Controller and contact

Tmi Mikko Sällinen / Arkeasi, Finland. Privacy and support: [email protected]. This policy covers Kotisäädin and these support pages.

Information kept on your phone

The local TV IP address, model confirmation, random per-install client identifier and name, TV-issued token and certificate fingerprint are stored in this iPhone’s Keychain using WhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly protection. They are not synchronised to iCloud or transferred to another phone. The haptic setting and installation marker are stored in the app’s own preferences; normal iOS backup may handle those preferences.

Information sent to your TV

The client name, pairing token and limited remote commands are sent to the television you choose over a local WSS connection. A saved token is sent only after its certificate pin is checked. Initial trust is confirmed separately. The TV may retain its own approved-device list. This does not send the information to Arkeasi.

Streaming shortcuts

When you request the TV app list, the response is kept only in this connection’s memory on the phone. Your selected TV app name, identifier and launch type are stored with the pairing in this iPhone’s ThisDeviceOnly Keychain and removed by Forget television. Launch requests go only to your own TV. Kotisäädin does not handle service credentials, viewing history or subscriptions and does not send the app list to the developer. TV apps use their own services under their own terms.

No analytics or app accounts

Kotisäädin contains no advertising, analytics SDK, remote telemetry, app account or developer cloud control service. The app does not send control data or pairing secrets to the developer. Tokens are not written to app logs or support reports. The app does not identify customers’ Apple accounts.

Deleting information

Forget television in Settings removes the locally saved TV address, certificate pin and token. The installation’s client name remains. Remove the TV’s own approval separately in its device list if needed. Deleting the app may not delete its Keychain: use Forget television first. A fresh installation creates a new client identifier and removes previous local authorization.

Support email

The app does not send a support message automatically. If you email us, Arkeasi receives only the information and attachments you choose to send and uses them to answer your request and investigate the problem. Our legitimate interest in providing customer support is the basis for this processing. Information is retained only as long as needed for the support matter and applicable legal obligations. Do not send tokens, serial numbers, MAC addresses or Apple credentials.

These web pages

These Kotisäädin pages contain no analytics, external fonts, advertising, form or cookie-setting code. They are hosted with Sites. Website and email providers may process technical connection information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure their services under their own policies. This website traffic is separate from the app’s local TV control.

Your rights

You may email us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information held by Arkeasi. Depending on the circumstances, you may request restriction or portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We cannot retrieve your local pairing data remotely. You may complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi/en or your local supervisory authority.

Other services and security limits

Apple handles App Store and iOS information under its own terms. TV firmware and television apps may process information under their manufacturers’ or service providers’ terms. Kotisäädin does not add internet remote control, but it cannot fix TV or router vulnerabilities or block other control apps already approved on the TV. Certificate pinning does not prove physical identity or replace TV authorization. VPN and special-network protection have not been verified.
